Domain_Users - Individual Domain Login

Should a customer have a 500MB account or greater, the ability to host multiple domains also come with several issues regarding permissions of any other people who need access to one of the domains only without the overall administrative access of the "account holder".

Domain_User access gives a new login to Plesk that will limit that login to a specific named domain within an account without access to anything else. This is especially important to customers reselling domain space from 3dpixelnet.

To set up a Domain_User: Log into Plesk with the overall account username and password. Click through to the domain name you wish to grant a domain_user access to. Click "Domain User" in the Domain Panel (towards the top) and the following screen will appear:

The domain: 3dpixel.co.uk is an example in this case. Whichever domain is selected will appear here and will actually "be" the username for the Domain_User.

Ensure the "Allow domain user access" checkbox is ticked as this is the most common error to Domain_User login issues. Choose a password and any other minor features in the top section a customer may wish to grant to the Domain_User.

The "Permissions" section must be handled with care. Ideally all should be left blank to give the Domain_User minimal permissions. These settings will allow a Domain_User to log in to Plesk, set up email addresses, check logs and the like without any critical access.

The Domain_User will log into Plesk with the domain name itself as the username and the given password.

Upon login, the Domain_User will be presented with a scaled down version of Plesk with limited access.

Note: Domain_User details are "not" the same as FTP details. Domain_Users can log into FTP but they must use the original FTP details. Those are still the same as the user and password combination used during the original domain setup in Plesk.
